St Helena poised to import water as shortage goes on
An emergency committee has considered importing water to St Helena from South Africa as supplies come close to running out on parts of the island.
On Tuesday 28 May 2013 the Red Hill reservoir, serving the most populated parts of the island, had only six days’ supply of water left
Tanks for transporting water around the island are already being shipped to Jamestown from Ascension.
