Napoleon gets a theme park (not in Longwood)

Napoleon's bust: but £180m will buy him a theme park

A theme park nicknamed ‘Napoleonland’ is planned in France, according to a report on the UK-based Mail Online website. It says visitors will be treated to daily re-enactments of the Battle of Waterloo, which led to the French emperor’s exile to St Helena.

A water show recreating the Battle of Trafalgar is also planned, says the Mail.

There’s no mention of whether Napoleon’s final years in the South Atlantic will be depicted in the park, which is expected to cost £180million – if funding can be found.

One Mail reader comments:

Apparently Mel Gibson’s Braveheart production team are being brought in to ensure that historical facts are not used and the French win the re-enactments.
