Employers urged to help Ascension teens start work
Employers on Ascension are to be asked to support a youth training scheme that has been praised at the July meeting of the Ascension Island Council, reports The Islander website. At the moment only Babcock and the island government have become partners.
Councillor Cathy Cranfield described the scheme as “a real benefit” to islanders aged between 16 and 18. She asked if the next group of school leavers could be spared waiting until October to start work.
