Camp gives airport workers a home draw

Construction is due to start this month on a temporary camp for Basil Read’s airport workers at Bradley’s, on the edge of Prosperous Bay Plain. When it is finished in three months’ time it will have accommodation for 108 people, with catering, laundry and entertainment facilities, says the company.

No mention is made of it having cricket practice nets – despite rumours that Basil Read is to field a team in the 2013 island championships, after staff member Schalk Wonech’s 111 not-out for Half Tree Hollow.
