Governor honours St Helena’s cricket heroes

St Helena’s national cricket team has been formally congratulated on the success it achieved in its first international tournament.
Governor Mark Capes and Mrs Capes honoured the squad and supporters with a reception at Plantation House.
St Helena won four of its eight matches in the ICC Africa Division 3 T20 Tournament in Johannesburg in April, missing a place in the final against Zambia by only three runs. The squad finished in fifth place among eight competing nations, and won the Fair Play and Commitment Award.
The team thanked fundraisers and business sponsors who made the trip possible.
