Falkland ideas: are they Huffing serious?

Two Falkland items on the Huffington Post news blog:

Item one: Blogger Will Porter says Falkland Islanders should make a YouTube video to demonstrate how British they are. ‘They should discuss their love of a nice cuppa, custard creams and the importance of queuing. I’m not suggesting they morris dance in Beefeater outfits whilst eating spotted dick, although I’d like to see that.’

Item two: Argentina is thinking of seeking Scottish support for its claim to the Falklands.

Now you, dear reader, have to decide which story is written tongue-in-cheek.

  1. Argentina is playing to win this time; building its claim and cultivating international support. The UK has responded by building an air-force base and sending its biggest boat in a show of strength.

As to Porter’s advice it is actually very good. You misrepresent what he writes, he wants the inhabitant of the islands to connect with the citizens of Argentina on a human level. Although I think that both sides would not listen to a snooty voice from afar telling them what to do.
