For the second time in a month, I’ve decided to take down a couple of stories: this time about the Jamestown Vision. As sometimes happens, they have caused upset that was not anticipated or intended. If this was a UK newspaper, I would robustly defend my right to publish and be damned, but it isn’t; it’s a blog produced under somewhat unusual conditions, covering an island with a very small population where people have to live alongside each other at close quarters. I, of course, am 5,000 miles away and comfortably removed from any discomfort that might be caused.
As I’m sure my “victims” would agree, it’s important to keep a sense of proportion.
