Waspish invaders make Sports go with a sting

Wasps turn out to be discerning in their choice of victim, according to the organisers of the annual gathering of Saints in the UK.

The Reading Sports take place within flying distance of one of the UK’s biggest rock events, both on the August Bank Holiday weekend.

In a message on the St Helena Association page on Facebook, sports organiser Trevor Toms says he and wife Vilma had plenty of comments about the wasps.

"They bothered us all," he says. "This is the first time I know of that we have had a problem with them. Vilma suggested that they should have been at the Reading Festival but didn’t like the music, and they heard the Saints are sweet and headed our way."
