A mistake in a story on this website, about the steeple on St James’ Church, has now been corrected. The impression may have been given that a historical accuracy was the fault of writer John Grimshaw, who was quoted as the source; in fact, the mistake was mine. John was too gracious to ask for an apology, but I am happy to give one anyway. The correction was to a paragraph about a previous church steeple that also had to be dismantled.
